extracellular domain (ECD) found in CD59 glycoprotein and similar proteins; CD59 (also called 1F5 antigen, or 20 kDa homologous restriction factor, or HRF-20, or MAC-inhibitory protein (MAC-IP), or MEM43 antigen, or membrane attack complex inhibition factor (MACIF), or membrane inhibitor of reactive lysis (MIRL), or protectin) is an LY-6-like protein expressed in human lymphoid cells and inhibits the action of the complement membrane attack complex (MAC) on homologous cells. It acts by binding to the C8 and/or C9 complements of the assembling MAC, thereby preventing incorporation of the multiple copies of C9 required for complete formation of the osmolytic pore. This inhibitor appears to be species-specific. CD59 is also involved in signal transduction for T-cell activation complexed to a protein tyrosine kinase. CD59 contains an extracellular domain (ECD) which belongs to Ly-6 antigen/uPA receptor-like (LU) superfamily and exhibits a snake toxin-like fold (also known as three-finger toxin/3FTx fold or three-fingered protein/TFP domain fold). : Pssm-ID: 467084 Cd Length: 70 Bit Score: 102.02 E-value: 1.18e-29

21-95 | 1.17e-03 | |||
extracellular domain (ECD) found in lymphocyte antigen 6D (Ly-6D) and similar proteins; Ly-6D (also called E48 antigen) is a GPI-anchored molecule apparently involved in keratinocyte cell-cell adhesion. TFP_LU_ECD_SLURP1_like | cd23560 | extracellular domain (ECD) found in the secreted Ly-6/uPAR-related protein 1 (SLURP-1)-like ... |
26-61 | 5.18e-03 | |||
extracellular domain (ECD) found in the secreted Ly-6/uPAR-related protein 1 (SLURP-1)-like family; The SLURP-1-like family includes SLURP-1 and Ly6/PLAUR domain-containing protein 2 (LYPD2). SLURP-1 (also called ARS component B, or ARS (component B)-81/S, or anti-neoplastic urinary protein (ANUP)) has an antitumor activity. It was found to be a marker of late differentiation of the skin. It is implicated in maintaining the physiological and structural integrity of the keratinocyte layers of the skin. In vitro SLURP-1 down-regulates keratinocyte proliferation; the function may involve the proposed role as modulator of nicotinic acetylcholine receptors (nAChRs) activity. In vitro it inhibits alpha-7-dependent nAChR currents in an allosteric manner. In T cells SLURP-1 may be involved in regulation of intracellular Ca(2+) signaling. It may also have an immunomodulatory function in the cornea. The function may implicate a possible role as a scavenger receptor for PLAU thereby blocking PLAU-dependent functions of PLAUR such as in cell migration and proliferation. LYPD2 is a lymphocyte antigen-6 family protein and shows high sequence similarity with SLURP-1. Members in this family contain an extracellular domain (ECD) that belongs to Ly-6 antigen/uPA receptor-like (LU) superfamily and exhibits a snake toxin-like fold (also known as three-finger toxin/3FTx fold or three-fingered protein/TFP domain fold). 25-97 | 8.96e-03 | |||
extracellular domain (ECD) found in prostate stem cell antigen (PSCA) and similar proteins; PSCA may be involved in the regulation of cell proliferation. It has a cell-proliferation inhibition activity in vitro. PSCA may also act as a modulator of nicotinic acetylcholine receptors (nAChRs) activity. In vitro it inhibits nicotine-induced signaling probably implicating alpha-3:beta-2- or alpha-7-containing nAChRs. PSCA contains an extracellular domain (ECD), which belongs to Ly-6 antigen/uPA receptor-like (LU) superfamily and exhibits a snake toxin-like fold (also known as three-finger toxin/3FTx fold or three-fingered protein/TFP domain fold).
