Yang, S.-H., Kim, J.-B., Min, M.-S., Suh, J.-H., and Suk, H.-Y. (1997) Genetic and phenetic differentiation among three forms of Korean salamander, Hynobius leechii. Korean J. Sci., 1: 247-257. Yang et al. (1997) demonstrated the presence of three species under the name Hynobius leechii, and labelled them as Forms A-C. The name Hynobius quelpartensis Mori is available for Form-B, and the name Hynobius leechii is apparently retained by Form-A. D.R. Frost also notes this information in the Amphibian Species of the World database.
