Tibet is not Sri Lanka
This was first described as Polypedates cavirostris Guenther, 1869 based on a specimen from Sri Lanka, and was transferred to Rhacophorus by Boulenger in 1882. "Rhacophorus carvirostris" is an incorrect subsequent spelling that apparently dates to Lue, Lai & Chen, 1994. We currently list this species in the genus Philautus, following both AmphibiaWeb and the Amphibian Species of the World. On the other hand, there is probably a problem with the taxonomy itself, i.e.: "It is extremely unlikely that one species is found in Sri Lanka and in the mountains of China and one must guess that the species in China is not appropriately referred to Philautus cavirostris."
