More...The Orang Asli are indigenous individuals who are considered the earliest inhabitants of peninsular Malaysia and are comprised of three main tribes. Since they experience higher rates of skin infections like tinea, scabies and impetigo, when compared to urban populations including individuals from Kuala Lumpur, skin microbiome studies were performed. This BioProject houses the shotgun metagenomic sequencing of skin swabs and whole-genome sequencing of a paired dermatophyte collection to identify relevant microbes from forehead, volar forearm and toeweb sites.
