The purpose of this study was to examine the within- and trans-generational effects of two tetracycline-class antibiotics, doxycycline and anhydrotetracycline, on the microbiome of the Australian sheep blowfly (Lucilia cuprina). We found that both antibiotics exerted strong transgenerational effects on the diversity and composition of the fly microbiome.
