More...The Arachis genus is composed mostly of diploid species (2n = 2x = 20). Peanut (A. hypogaea L.) is an allotetraploid (AABB-type genome; 2n = 4x = 40), probably derived from a single recent hybridization event between A. duranensis (AA subgenome, 2n = 2x = 20) and A. ipaensis (BB subgenome, 2n = 2x = 20) . Arachis ipaensis is a wild annual plant native to Bolivia. It is thought to be one of the diploid ancestors of cultivated tetraploid peanut. A. ipaensis species represented as ICG-8206 was sequenced by Illumina HiSeq2500 platform. Total genomic DNA was isolated from the etiolated unopened young leaves of 20-day-old plants cultivate in dark chamber according to a modified CTAB procedure. The primary contig and scaffold assemblies were constructed using SOAPdenovo.
