The germplasm genome is an important link between the conservation and utilization of plant genetic resources in various breeding programmes, including lettuce. We collected genetically diverse accessions originated from a wide geographic distribution of the world, mainly concentrated in China, the United States, Netherlands, and Turkey. These accessions encompassed the main horticultural types, such as Butterhead, Crisphead, Looseleaf, Oilseed, Romaine, Stem, Youmaicai, and Wild relative species of Lactuca serriola.
