Description

The Northern pike (Esox lucius), is found across the Canada and Northern Europe. They inhabit brackish and fresh waters. They get their name from their pole like weapon, and are highly predatory. This sample was collected by Martin Reichard, procured by Axel Meyer, sequencing supported by Gene Myers, in collaboration with Richard Durbin, to generate a high-quality reference genome as part of the G10K-VGP and Fish VGP projects.
