pfam03479: DUF296 (this model, PSSM-Id:397515 is obsolete and has been replaced by 460940)
Domain of unknown function (DUF296)
This putative domain is found in proteins that contain AT-hook motifs pfam02178, which strongly suggests a DNA-binding function for the proteins as a whole. There are three highly conserved histidine residues, eg at 117, 119 and 133 in Reut_B5223, which should be a structurally conserved metal-binding unit, based on structural comparison with known metal-binding structures. The proteins should work as trimers.
