Geminiviruses are small, ssDNA-containing plant viruses. Geminiviruses contain three ORFs (designated AL1, AL2, and AL3) that overlap and are specified by multiple polycistronic mRNAs. The AL2 gene product transactivates expression of TGMV coat protein gene, and BR1 movement protein.
