Adipose transcriptome in the scalp of androgenetic alopecia

(Submitter supplied) To identify differentially expressed genes in androgenetic alopecia specifically in the adipose, adipose tissue samples from affected male participants were collected through punch biopsy at two different sites: bald (frontal) and normal (occipital,as control) scalp. After removal of the epidermis, dermis and hair follicle, we isolated RNA from the remaining adipose layer of the bald and normal scalp then performed gene expression analysis on the RNA-seq data to compare the profiles of the bald and normal scalp.

Mitogen induced-nucleosomal response pathway and transcriptional programming in mammalian fibroblasts

(Submitter supplied) Stimulation of the RAS-MAPK pathway activates mitogen- and stress-activated kinases (MSK) 1 and 2, which phosphorylate histone H3 at S10 (H3S10ph) or S28 (H3S28ph) (nucleosomal response) located at the regulatory regions of immediate-early genes, setting in motion a series of chromatin remodeling events that result in transcription initiation. To investigate immediate-early genes regulated by the MSK, we have completed transcriptome analyses (RNA Sequencing) of human normal fibroblast cells (CCD-1070Sk) stimulated with EGF or TPA ± H89, a potent MSK/PKA inhibitor.

Inhibiting DDX3X triggers tumor-intrinsic type I interferon response and enhances anti-tumor immunity

(Submitter supplied) Accumulating evidence has shown that cellular double-stranded RNAs (dsRNAs) induce antiviral innate immune responses in human normal and malignant cancer cells. However, it is not fully understood how endogenous ‘self’ dsRNA homeostasis is regulated in the cell. Here, we show that an RNA-binding protein, DEAD-box RNA helicase 3X (DDX3X), prevents the aberrant accumulation of cellular dsRNAs. Mapping of CTCF occupancy in interphase and mitosis cells

(Submitter supplied) To address whether CTCF is involved in the transcription of early G1 genes immediately after mitotic exit, we carried out ChIP sequencing (ChIP-seq) experiments to evaluate CTCF binding to genomic DNA in asynchronous cells and nocodazole-arrested mitotic cells. Of the 62,996 peaks identified in the asynchronous cells, 41,397 peaks (65.71%) were lost in the mitotic cells. Analysis of vastus lateralis muscle from 30 human subjects classified by metabolic flexibility
