Measles Virus-Infected Dendritic Cells

(Submitter supplied) Human CD14+ monocytes were isolated and grown in GM-CSF and IL-4 for six days. The cells were then infected with measles virus, Chicago-1 strain, and RNA was isolated at 3, 6, 12, and 24 hours post-infection. Keywords: time-course

Dendritic cell response to measles virus infection: time course

Analysis of dendritic cells (DCs) for up to 24 hours after infection with measles virus (MV). MV induces immunosuppression followed by lasting immunity. DCs appear to play a role in this effect. Results provide insight into MV-DC interactions and suggest mechanisms for MV-modulated immune response.

Sputum and blood transcriptomics characterization of the PDE4 inhibitor CHF6001 in COPD

(Submitter supplied) The aim of the present study was to characterize the gene expression profile of the phosphodiesterase-4 inhibitor CHF6001 on top of inhaled triple therapy in sputum cells and whole blood of chronic bronchitis patients. Samples for analyses were collected from a multicenter, three-period, three-way, placebo-controlled, double-blind, complete block crossover study. Eligible patients underwent three, 32-day treatment periods during which they received CHF6001 800 or 1600 µg twice daily (total daily doses of 1600 or 3200 µg) or matching placebo, all via multi-dose dry-powder inhaler (NEXThaler). more...

Gene expression profiling of dendritic cells derived from bone marrow (BM-DC) in response to myxoma virus infection.

(Submitter supplied) Background : Poxviruses have been shown to be efficient vectors for the production of protective immune responses in host species but also in on host species. Myxoma virus belongs to poxviridae family. In order to evaluate the capacity of (MYXV) as a vaccine vector in ruminants, we invistigated its interactions with bone marrow-derived dendritic cells (BM-DC). DCs are the most potent antigen-presenting cells and play a crucial role during the priming and reactivation of antigen-specific immune responses . more...

Contribution of paracrine signalling on dendritic cell activation

(Submitter supplied) The physiological function of the immune system and the response to therapeutic immunomodulators may be sensitive to combinatorial cytokine micro-environments that shape the responses of specific immune cells. Previous work shows that paracrine cytokines released by virus-infected human dendritic cells (DC) can dictate the maturation state of naïve DCs. To understand the effects of paracrine signaling, we systematically studied the effects of combinations cytokines in this complex mixture in generating an antiviral state. more...
