Estrogen effect on myometrium of ovariectomized females: time course

Analysis of myometria of ovariectomized animals following treatment with estradiol for 6 or 24 hours. Estrogen reduces the increased uterine sympathetic nerve density induced by ovariectomy. Results provide insight into the molecular mechanisms underlying estrogen-modulated sympathetic innervation.

Expression data from rat uterine myometrium -effect of estrogen

(Submitter supplied) Uterine tissue is highly responsive to estrogen, which plays a mayor role in sympathetic innervation remodeling in myometrium Microarrays were used to investigate which estrogen resposive myometrial proteins can be involved in innervation modulation Keywords: control vs. treatment, timepoints

Transcriptomic effects of estradiol treatment on cultured human uterine smooth muscle cells

(Submitter supplied) The myometrium is an important reproductive tissue composed primarily of smooth muscle cells. Contractility of the myometrial smooth muscle cells during the estrous cycle and pregnancy is modulated by estrogen. Despite much research, little is known about the molecular mechanism by which estrogen regulates myometrial contractility. This study investigates global gene expression profile of cultured human uterine smooth muscle cells (hUtSMCs) following 17β-estradiol (E2) treatment using cDNA microarray technology. more...
