Molecular hydrogen-saturated water consumption effect on the liver

Analysis of livers of Sprague-Dawley animals following consumption of water containing 0.7 mM dissolved molecular hydrogen for 4 weeks. Molecular hydrogen is an antioxidant. Results provide insight into the molecular response of the liver to hydrogen saturated water.

Hepatic gene expression profile in hydrogen water administrated SD rat

(Submitter supplied) The effects of the administration of molecular hydrogen-saturated drinking water (hydrogen water) on hepatic gene expression were investigated in rats. Using DNA microarrays, 548 upregulated and 695 downregulated genes were detected in the liver after a 4-week administration of hydrogen water. Gene Ontology analysis revealed that genes for oxidoreduction-related proteins, including hydroxymethylglutaryl CoA reductase, were significantly enriched in the upregulated genes.

Gene expression data from liver of rat fed a high-fat diet without/with mulberry leaves

(Submitter supplied) To investigate effects of intake of mulberry leaves on hyperlipidemia, we performed gene expression profiling on rat liver by microarray analysis. Microarray analysis revealed that mulberry leaves up-regulated the genes involved in alpha-, beta-, and omega-oxidation of fatty acids, mainly relating to peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor signaling pathway, and down-regulated the gene expression involved in lipogenesis. more...
