Interleukin 4, interleukin 13 and tumor necrosis factor-α effect on Matrigel-cultured IMR-90 lung fibroblast cells

Analysis of IMR-90 cells cultured on Matrigel and treated with IL-4, IL-13 or TNFα. Type 2 inflammatory processes mediated by IL-4 and IL-13 are implicated in pathologic lung fibrogenesis. Results provide insight into molecular mechanisms underlying the onset and maintenance of pulmonary fibrosis.

IMR90 lung fibroblasts treated with IL-4 or IL-13

(Submitter supplied) IL-4 and IL-13 are cytokines involved in type 2 immune responses involved in atopic asthma and other diseases. They have a partially overlapping set of cognate receptors whose roles are incompletely understood. Here we explore the effects of these cytokines on lung fibroblasts in order to assess the global similarities and contrasts in the genes whose expression their ligation modulates.

Myeloid cells or lung fibroblasts treated with IL-4 or IL-13

(Submitter supplied) IL-4 and IL-13 are cytokines involved in type 2 immune responses involved in atopic asthma and other diseases. They have a partially overlapping set of cognate receptors whose roles are incompletely understood. Here we explore the effects of these cytokines on various cells related to human lung disease in order to assess the global similarities and contrasts in the genes whose expression their ligation modulates.

Effects of anti-IL13RA mAbs on IL-4 or IL-13 signalling

(Submitter supplied) IL-4 and IL-13 are cytokines involved in type 2 immune responses involved in atopic asthma and other diseases. They have a partially overlapping set of cognate receptors whose roles are incompletely understood. Here we explore the effects of blocking one or both subunits of the IL-13 alpha receptor on the action of these cytokines on IMR-90 lung fibroblast cells.

Interleukin 4, interleukin 13 and tumor necrosis factor-α effect on plastic-cultured IMR-90 lung fibroblast cells

Analysis of IMR-90 cells cultured on plastic and treated with IL-4, IL-13 or TNFα. Type 2 inflammatory processes mediated by IL-4 and IL-13 are implicated in pathologic lung fibrogenesis. Results provide insight into molecular mechanisms underlying the onset and maintenance of pulmonary fibrosis.

TNF-alpha and IL-17 synergize to inhibit IL-13 bioactivity via IL-13Ra2 induction in human lung fibroblasts

(Submitter supplied) IL-17 and TNF-alpha synergistically induce surface expression of IL-13Ra2 on primary lung fibroblasts, rendering them unresponsive to IL-13. Neutralizing antibodies to IL-13Ra2 restored IL-13-mediated signaling and transcriptome studies confirmed IL-13Ra2 is an IL-13 decoy receptor.

Il13-stimulation of human paSMCs

(Submitter supplied) Idiopathic pulmonary arterial hypertension (IPAH) is characterized by medial hypertrophy due to pulmonary arterial smooth muscle cell (paSMC) hyperplasia. Interleukin (IL)-13 is a potent regulator of tissue fibrosis and remodelling, and its effects are dependent on the cell-type specific expression of the IL-13 receptor isotypes IL-4Rα, IL-13Rα1, and IL-13Rα2. In order to identify the possible mechanism how IL-13 can exert its antiproliferative effect on paSMC microarray analysis was performed. more...
