TGFβ1 effect on gingival fibroblasts pretreated with TGFβ-associated kinase 1 inhibitor 5Z-7-Oxozeanol

Analysis of cultured gingival fibroblasts pre-treated with TGFβ-associated kinase 1 (TAK1) inhibitor (5Z)-7-Oxozeanol for 45 min prior to treatment with TGFβ1. Results provide insight into the extent to which TAK1 mediates fibroproliferative responses in gingival fibroblasts in response to TGFβ1.

Whole-genome microarray analysis of human skin fibroblasts

(Submitter supplied) Connective tissue growthfactor (CTGF/CCN2) is a matricellular protein induced by transforming growth factor-beta (TGF-beta) and intimately involved with tissue repair and overexpressed in various fibrotic conditions. We have previously shown that keratinocytes in vitro downregulate TGF-beta induced expression of CTGF in fibroblasts by an interleukin-1 alfa (IL-1alfa) dependent mechanism.
