Transcriptomic data from Malus domestica young leaves response to Acibenzolar-S-Methyl (ASM) treatment and nitrogen limitation or resupply.

(Submitter supplied) Plant resistance inducers (PRIs) and nitrogen (N) nutrition are both factors known to act on plant defence but their interaction has been little studied and needs further research. The objective of the study was to further characterize this interaction on apple (Malus domestica) plantlets at the molecular level. The produced dataset allows the investigation of the molecular mechanisms underlying: i) the biotic resistance induced by ASM treatments on apple seedlings, ii) their response to different nitrogen (N) status (N limitation or subsequent N resupply), iii) the combination of both N status and ASM treatment.

microRNA172 targets APETALA2 to regulate anthocyanin biosynthesis

(Submitter supplied) MicroRNA172 (miR172) plays a role in regulating a diverse range of plant developmental processes. However, its role in regulating anthocyanin biosynthesis is unclear. In this study, we show that transgenic apple plants over-expressing miR172 show a reduction in red colouration and anthocyanin accumulation in multiple tissue types. Real-time quantitative PCR analysis of 30 apple cyclophilin genes under abiotic stress

(Submitter supplied) Plant cyclophilins are widely involved in a variety of abiotic stress regulation processes. Thirty cyclophilin members were identified from apple and their patterns of response to abiotic stress were examined. Apple seedlings with consistent growth were selected, cultivated under drought stress conditions simulated by PEG6000, sampled according to different time periods, and quickly frozen in liquid nitrogen.Total RNAs of apple plantlets were isolated using an RNA extraction kit (Tiangen, Beijing, China).

Real-time quantitative PCR analysis of apple seeds

(Submitter supplied) Apple seeds were subjected to accelerated aging. After 7, 14, and 21 days of aging, embryos were isolated. Part of the embryos were shortly fumigated with nitric oxide (NO). After 48 h of embryos culture (aged embryos or aged embryos treated with NO), embryonic axes were used to extract the total RNA. RT-qPCR were done to analyze the changes in the expression of genes related to seed aging. Time series transcriptome of Venturia inaequalis (apple scab) infecting Malus domestica (apple)
