Whole transcriptomic analysis of liver tissue from high-intake fed compared to normally-fed lion-head geese

(Submitter supplied) Lion-head goose is the only large goose species in China, and it was one of the largest goose species in the world. Our previous study firstly reported a chromosome-level genome assembly of Lion-head goose (Anser cygnoides), a native breed in South China, through the combination of PacBio, Bionano, and Hi-C technologies. The fat content of foie gras is augmented during its preparation due to the special feeding regimen. more...

RNA-seq Analysis on the Renal Tissue Injury in the Development of Goslings Gout

(Submitter supplied) The transcription expressions of gout goslings in renal tissues was significantly different from that of healthy goslings. With P <0.05 and |log2(fold change)| >1 as the selection standards, 1749 differential expression genes were found. Among these, 501 genes were up-regulated and 1248 genes were down-regulated in the gout group. The gene ontology (GO) search revealed many significant terms, including chemokine activity, T cell receptor binding, antigen binding, immune response, G-protein coupled receptor signaling pathway, chemokine-mediated signaling pathway, inflammatory response and so on. more...

Transcriptome Sequencing Reveals Pathways Related to Proliferation and Differentiation of Shitou Goose Myoblasts

(Submitter supplied) In this study, we cultured lion-headed goose myoblasts and induced their differentiation, followed by RNA-seq extraction of total RNA from proliferative and differentiated cells, respectively. The identified lncRNAs and mRNAs were analyzed, including enrichment analysis, alternative splicing, and construction of interaction networks.

Liver transcriptome profile in geese with different phenotypes of weight

(Submitter supplied) The unique fat storage and metabolic characteristics of goose liver is an important model for studying lipid metabolism in animals or humans. In this study, RNA sequencing technology was used to obtain the liver transcriptome of Sichuan white goose with significant weight difference in the same population, and differentially expressed genes and their pathways were identified, which may help to understand the mechanism of goose weight change. more...

Global Long Noncoding RNA and mRNA Expression Changes between Ovarian Granulosa Cell Treatment with GnRH agonist(Alarelin) and antagonist(Cetrorelix) in goose

(Submitter supplied) Gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) might combine with other reproductive hormones to affect follicular development by regulation of the cell cycle in granulosa cells (GCs).To investigate the function of GnRH in GCs, we examined the effects of a GnRH agonist (alarelin acetate) and an antagonist (cetrorelix acetate) on the proliferation of primary goose (Anser cygnoides) ovarian GCs by colorimetry and 5-ethynyl-2¢-deoxyuridine (EdU) cell proliferation assays. more...

Transcriptomic Analysis between Normal and High-intake Feeding Geese Provides Insight into Adipose Deposition and Susceptibility to Fatty Liver in Migratory Birds

(Submitter supplied) Geese have a high tolerance of massive energy intake and exhibit little pathological development. We assessed phenotypes and transcriptomes of Tianfu geese to investigate the dynamic expression network behind goose adipogenesis. Goose liver exhibited higher fat accumulation than adipose tissues during fattening. We identified differentially expressed genes that function in several important lipid metabolism pathways, immune response, regulation of cancer, and differentially expressed long noncoding RNAs that might be involved in regulation of these pathways. more...
