Summary
This region represents two DNase I hypersensitive sites (HSs), HS-84.5 and HS-85.5, which are located approximately 85 kb upstream of the Hbb-y (hemoglobin Y, beta-like embryonic chain) gene in the beta-globin gene cluster. The -85.5 HS can bind the CTCF transcription factor. These HSs are not conserved in human. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2017]

RefSeqs maintained independently of Annotated Genomes

These reference sequences exist independently of genome builds. Explain

These reference sequences are curated independently of the genome annotation cycle, so their versions may not match the RefSeq versions in the current genome build. Identify version mismatches by comparing the version of the RefSeq in this section to the one reported in Genomic regions, transcripts, and products above.
