Acts upstream of or within negative regulation of ERK1 and ERK2 cascade and positive regulation of neuron projection development. Located in several cellular components, including cell body; growth cone; and photoreceptor inner segment. Is expressed in several structures, including brain; hemolymphoid system gland; liver; otocyst; and retina. Orthologous to human DYNLT1 (dynein light chain Tctex-type 1).
