Extraction protocol |
Dissected P8 hearts were placed in RNAlater for tissue stabilization. Total RNA was then extracted using the RNeasy Micro Kit (Qiagen) and optical density was measured by NanoDrop ND-1000, Agilent RNA 6000 Nano Assay and agarose electrophoresis.

AminoAllyl aRNA labeling. The reactive amino group of 5-(3-aminoallyl)-UTP/5-(3-aminoallyl)-dUTP was used to conjugate the purified aRNA with the NHS-CyDye.

Data processing |
The raw data were re-scaled to account for the differences in individual hybridization intensities. We employed a rank-invariant scaling method to select genes (Tseng et al., 2001), which were then used for fitting of a non-linear normalization curve. Data was normalized using R Bioconductor software package (v.2.15.2).
