Summary

Autosomal recessive deafness-30 (DFNB30) is characterized by progressive hearing loss with onset in the second decade of life. The high frequencies are initially affected; by age 50, hearing loss is severe in high and middle frequencies and moderate in low frequencies. Vision and balance are normal (Walsh et al., 2002).
