How to: Find bioassays that test a particular disease or protein target
Starting with...
AN ACESSION OR FASTA SEQUENCE FOR THE PROTEIN TARGET
- Go to the PubChem Bioassay BLAST page.
- Enter the accession or FASTA sequence in the query input box at the top of the page.
- Click the BLAST button.
- When the search is done, scroll down to the Descriptions section and click the green assay icon next to the desired sequence.
A PROTEIN NAME FOR THE TARGET
- Search for the protein name/accesion in Protein.
- In the Links menu in the upper right, choose Bioassay by target.
A DISEASE NAME
- Go the to OMIM Home Page.
- In the search box, enter the name of the disease followed by AND omim pcassay[filter] (E.g. tuberculosis AND omim pcassay[filter]).
- Click the "Links" menu to the right of the desired record and select "PubChem Bioassay".
AN OMIM NUMBER FOR THE DISEASE
- Search for the OMIM number in OMIM Home Page.
- Continue with step 3 under "a disease name" above.
