Acromial dimples are skin depressions overlying the acromial process of the scapula. They are thought to arise from the entrapment of tissue between a bony structure and the uterine wall. The skin and bone become compressed and tethering results when the pressure is released. They are usually bilateral and are an isolated finding warranting no further investigation (summary by Liu and Nanan, 2008).
