Summary: Analysis of heart from CVB3-infected males during acute myocarditis (day 10 postinfection). Myocarditis and DCM, often caused by viral infections, occur more frequently in men than in women. Results provided insight into molecular basis of progression from acute CVB3 myocarditis to DCM in males.
