SRX1470955: Sphaeroforma sirkka B5 genome and assembly
1 ILLUMINA (Illumina HiSeq 2500) run: 107.6M spots, 21.5G bases, 10.4Gb downloads

Design: A sequencing library was prepared using the Illumina TruSeq Nano DNA Library The library was loaded on one lane of an Illumina HiSeq 2500 Rapid Run flow cell (v2) and sequenced in a 2 x 100 base pair (bp) paired-end format using HiSeq Rapid SBS reagents

show Abstracthide Abstract
Sphaeroforma sirkka is the first known free-living species in the Mesomycetozoea. The Mesomycetozoea branch near the animal-fungal divergence and are expected to be important to understanding the origins of multicellularity. As the first free-living organisms within the diverse mesomycetozoeans, whole genome sequencing could reveal interesting features of sphaeroformids that help guide evolutionary inferences.
