Design: Reproductive tract tissues (ovary, oviduct, uterus, spermatheca) were dissected from cold anesthetized females. Tissues were homogenized in trizol reagent and RNA isolated using the Direct-zol kit from Zymo. RNA quantity and quality were verified on an Agilent bioanalyzer. PolyA RNA was purified from total RNA and used for library production using the Illumina Stranded mRNA Prep kit.

Study: Transcriptomic Time Course Analysis of Female Reproductive Tract Gene Expression after Mating in the Tsetse Fly (Glossina morsitans )

This project contains 12 transcriptomes derived from RNA isolated from female reproductive tissues. The reproductive tissues included in the samples are uterus, spermatheca, ovaries, and oviduct. Samples were collected from 4 times points with three replicates per time point. The time points include virgin females at 5 days post eclosion, mated females (5 days post eclosion) 2-4 hours post-mating, 24 hours post-mating, and 72 hours post-mating. Each replicate was generated from the pooled reproductive tissues from 5 individuals.
