This study aims to understand the structure and evolution of genetic architectures controlling trait variation in Aegilops tauschii, the wild progenitor of the bread wheat D genome. A comprehensive characterization of the genetic diversity of this wild relative of wheat can aid in accelerating wheat improvement. The ~300 Ae. tauschii accessions sequenced in this project add to a diversity panel of 306 accessions previously sequenced under the aegis of the Open Wild Wheat Consortium (Bioproject PRJNA685125). Resequencing data for 59 wheat landraces were also generated to study the origin and evolution of the bread wheat D genome.
