SRX24755467: 16S sequencing of Lucilia cuprina microbiome: G4 H2O adult females rep 1
1 ILLUMINA (Illumina NovaSeq 6000) run: 303,482 spots, 121.2M bases, 37.1Mb downloads

Design: The V4 region of the 16S rRNA gene was amplified using 16S V4: 515F-806R primers, with attached barcode. Forward primer: GTGYCAGCMGCCGCGGTAA. Reverse primer: GGACTACNVGGGTWTCTAAT. Sequencing was performed on an Illumina NovaSeq 6000 platform. Paired-end reads were assigned to samples based on their unique barcode. Barcode and primer removal, demultiplexing, and quality filtering were performed by Novogene Corporation (Sacramento, CA, USA).

Study: Transgenerational effects of tetracyclines on the microbiome of the Australian sheep blowfly (Lucilia cuprina)
show Abstracthide Abstract
The purpose of this study was to examine the within- and trans-generational effects of two tetracycline-class antibiotics, doxycycline and anhydrotetracycline, on the microbiome of the Australian sheep blowfly (Lucilia cuprina). We found that both antibiotics exerted strong transgenerational effects on the diversity and composition of the fly microbiome. These findings are relevant to the field of genetic pest management, where tetracyclines are often used to control the expression of female-lethal genes.
