show Abstracthide AbstractMost diversification events in island birds have occurred via anagenetic processes (i.e. evolutionary change of any lineage over time do not increase the number of species). Despite the dominance of anagenetic radiations in avian diversification, there are very few studies aiming at understanding the ecological underpinnings of these evolutionary processes. With this project we explore the genomic regions driving differentiation in the Macaronesian finches (Fringilla genus) and mainland populations.
