Cotreatment effects of estrogen with progestogens or dihydrotestosterone in the breast cancer cell line T-74D

(Submitter supplied) Cells were cotreated with estrogen and dihydrotestosterone, progesterone or medroxyprogesterone acetate to assess the combinatorial effects of progestogens or androgens with estrogen in T47D breast cancer cells

Systems analysis of the prostate tumor suppressor NKX3.1 substantiates roles in DNA repair and a transcriptional program that drives luminal cell differentiation

(Submitter supplied) NKX3.1 is an androgen-regulated, prostate-specific gene located on chromosome 8p21, a region frequently undergoing allelic loss in human prostate cancer. Mice deficient in NKX3.1 show signs of epithelial de-differentiation and develop dysplasia and prostatic intraepithelial neoplasia (PIN) that progresses to overt prostate cancer when combined with deletions of additional tumor suppressors such as PTEN or p27Kip1. more...

The microRNAs miR-373 and miR-520c promote tumor migration, invasion and metastasis

(Submitter supplied) MicroRNAs (miRNAs) are single-stranded noncoding RNAs that play important roles in many biological processes. Although the oncogenic and tumor suppressive functions of several miRNAs have been characterized, the role of miRNAs in mediating tumor metastasis was only recently addressed and still remain largely unexplored. To identify potential metastasis-promoting miRNAs, we set up a genetic screen using a non-metastatic human breast tumor cell line that was transduced with a miRNA expression library and subjected to a trans-well migration assay. more...
