Each slide has one array composed of 30,721 potential addresses for probes, of which 26,346 spots contain 45-47mer probes for Salmonella enterica (SE) genes, 3,654 features are “empty” (i.e., they contain no probe), 608 features contain MYcroarray in-house QC probes and 112 features contain positive control probes for assessing hybridization and washing stringency. Each SE gene is surveyed by one unique probe sequence. There are 6 identical replicates of each SE probe sequence such that a total of 4,391 SE genes are surveyed by each array.
