Mouse perigonadal white adipose tissue samples were snap-frozen in liquid nitrogen immediately after collection, reduced into powder in a tissue grinder, and dissolved in TRIreagent (Sigma).
After precipitation in alcohol, RNA pellets were washed in cold 75% ethanol and resuspended in nuclease-free water Samples were quantified and evaluated for purity (260-nm/280-nm and 260-nm/230-nm ratio) with a NanoDrop ND-1000 spectrophotometer
