All animals were maintained under controlled conditions of humidity (50±10%), light (12/12 hour light/dark cycle) and temperature (23 ± 2˚C) with free access to feeds and water.

Pre-processing and normalization was done using the Partek microarray data analysis software (http://www.partek.com/). Partek pre-processes raw intensity files from microarray experiment using GCRMA’s background subtraction and uses quantile normalization as the normalization technique.
