Treatment protocol 15-day-old kavya seedlngs were exposed to gall midge biotype GMB1 or GMB4M for 24, 48, 96, and 120 hr. Uninfested seedlings were used as control.
Growth protocol Samples were grown under standard glasshouse conditions for 15 days.
Extracted molecule total RNA
Extraction protocol RNA from the Kavya seedlings was extracted after removing the maggots at different time intervals. The Trizol (Invitogen) method for RNA isolation was used for the extractions. RNA was further purified using the Qiagen mini RNA isolation kit.
Label biotin
Label protocol The kit supplied with Affymetrix chips was used to label the RNA with biotin.
 
Hybridization protocol Following fragmentation, 10 ug of cRNA were hybridized for 16 hr at 45C on GeneChip Rice Genome Array. GeneChips were washed and stained in the Affymetrix Fluidics Station 400.
Scan protocol Chips were scanned using the GeneChip Scanner 3000.
Description Uninfested samples.
Data processing MAS5.0 using GCOS 1.x.
