Title |
Brain_RIL_Riluzole |
Sample type |
RNA |
Source name |
Cortical neurons, Riluzole, NMDA
Organism |
Mus musculus |
Characteristics |
cell type: cortical neurons from whole brain neuroprotective molecule: Riluzole solvent: DMSO mechanism: NMDAR antagonist ratio protection: 1.87 class: protective
Treatment protocol |
Media was replaced with fresh media containing neuroprotective molecules or controls and incubated for one hour. Neurons were then exposed to NDMA in excitotoxic media (hypotonic salt solution) for one hour. Media was replaced with fresh media containing molecule or controls, respectively, and incubated for a further 16hr.
Growth protocol |
Dissociated cortical neurons were cultured on poly-ornithine/poly-lysine coated plates in neurobasal A medium supplemented with B-27 and penicillin/streptomycin. Neurons were cultured for seven days before experimental conditions were introduced.
Extracted molecule |
total RNA |
Extraction protocol |
RNA was extracted with clean-up using the QIAGEN RNeasy mini kit in accordance with the manufacturer's protocol.
Label |
Cy3
Label protocol |
Standard Illumina labeling protocol.
Hybridization protocol |
Standard Illumina hybridization protocol.
Scan protocol |
Standard Illumina scanning protocol.
Description |
4060001024_F RIL Non-control single sample.
Data processing |
The data were background subtracted and normalized (cubic spline) using the Illumina BeadStudio Gene Expression module v3.1.
