show Abstracthide AbstractA novel lactic acid bacterium named Lactobacillus sp. Hime5-1 was isolated from the gut of a glasshopper Eobiana engelhardti in a mountainous area of Nonomi plateau in Nagano Prefecture, Japan. The gut microbiome communities in two samples of E. engelhardti collected in different years (2015 and 2016) were analyzed with the microbiome composition of soil samples by 16S rRNA gene sequencing using Miseq. The gut microbiome communities in two different E. engelhardti were compared to those of soils from the same place and year. Microbiome analysis indicated that the gut microbiome community in E. engelhardti contains a high relative abundance of Hime 5-1.
