Arabidopsis CBP60g Contributes to MAMP-Induced SA Accumulation and Is Involved in Disease Resistance

(Submitter supplied) Salicylic acid (SA)-induced defense responses are important factors during effector triggered immunity and microbe-associated molecular pattern (MAMP)-induced immunity in plants. This article presents evidence that a member of the Arabidopsis CBP60 gene family, CBP60g, contributes to MAMP-triggered SA accumulation. CBP60g is inducible by both pathogen and MAMP treatments. Pseudomonas syringae growth is enhanced in cbp60g mutants. more...

The Genetic Network Controlling the Arabidopsis Transcriptional Response to Pseudomonas syringae pv. maculicola

(Submitter supplied) Expression profiling of wild-type plants and mutants with defects in key components of the defense signaling network was used to model the Arabidopsis network 24 hours after infection by Pseudomonas syringae pv. maculicola strain Psm ES4326. Results using the Affymetrix ATH1 array revealed that expression levels of most pathogen-responsive genes were affected by mutations in coi1, ein2, npr1, pad4, or sid2. more...

Interplay between MAMPs-triggered and SA-mediated defense responses

(Submitter supplied) The Arabidopsis Pathoarray 464_001 (GPL3638) was used to compare response of Col-0, pad4-1 (Zhou et al., 1998; Jirage et al., 1999) and sid2-2 (Wildermuth et al., 2001) to Pseudomonas syringae pv. tomato DC3000 hrcC mutant. SA production is drastically reduced in sid2 mutants. PAD4 is required for SA-mediated responses. The results suggested that the SA increase triggered by MAMPs is one major component in the MAMPs-triggered signaling mechanism. more...

Search for genes regulated by WIPK and SIPK in wounded tobacco leaves

(Submitter supplied) WIPK and SIPK, two tobacco MAPKs, are rapidly activated by wounding. Goal is to identify the genes regulated by WIPK and SIPK. For this purpose, we produced transgenic tobacco plants in which expression of WIPK and SIPK (WIPK/SIPK-suppressed plants) is suppressed by RNAi.

Gene expression profiling study by RNA-seq in Arabidopsis thaliana treated with Chlorella

(Submitter supplied) The objective of this study is to assess gene expression changes in Arabidopsis thaliana after Chlorella treatment. We performed transcript profiling using 4 RNA-seq samples of Arabidopsis obtained at 0h and 12h after Cholorella treatment. To compare them with control sample groups, 6 RNA-seq samples treated with additional DC3000 pathogen or only water were generated. Through various statistical tests, differentially expressed genes at each time point were obtained and enriched biological functions were compared between treatment time points. more...

Transcriptome changes triggered by Hyaloperonospora parasitica arabidopsis Noco2 in WT and wrky72 mutants at 96 hpt

(Submitter supplied) Functional characterization of AtWRKY72 using Arabidopsis T-DNA insertion lines showed that this gene is important for basal defense to root-knot nematode (RKN) and Hyaloperonospora parasitica arabidopsis (Hpa), but not several tested R gene-mediated defenses. To profile transcriptional reprogramming associated with AtWRKY72-dependent basal defense we used Affymetrix ATH1 GeneChips representing ~24,000 Arabidopsis genes. more...

Expression data from WT, sid2-1

(Submitter supplied) Salicylic acid (SA) levels increase in Arabidopsis upon exposure to low temperature for more than a week. This cold-induced SA biosynthesis was found to proceed through the isochorismate synthase (ICS) pathway. The sid2-1 mutant is deficient in ICS1 and does not make SA at low temperature. We used microarray analysis to examine the genes differentially regulated by low temperature that were dependent on SA

Expression data from WT, camta1/2, camta1/3, camta2/3, camta1/2/3 mutants

(Submitter supplied) CAMTA3 is known to be involved in regulation of induction of early cold-responsive genes, CBF1 and CBF2 at cold conditions and of suppression of SA production at warm temperature. Considering a functional redundancy of CAMTA family members in both warm and cold conditions, high-order of camta mutants, camta double and triple mutants, were generated and used to determined the effects of their regulation using microarray analysis.

Identification of early flg22 responsive genes in Arabidopsis seedlings

(Submitter supplied) The goal of this experiment was to identify the early responsive genes activated by the 22 amino acid peptide of bacterial flagellin (flg22) in Arabidopsis seedlings that are involved in the initial responses important for plant innate immunity. We used the microarrays to detail the global program of gene expression underlying intial cellular and molecular responses to microbial associated molecualr patterns (MAMPs).
